Soaring on the Wings of Success

Raymond Whitley-PrincipalHope Academy is a coeducational HISD Charter High School that targets young people grades 9 through 12 who are experiencing academic difficulty, behavioral challenges, and other issues that have not allowed them to have success in a traditional school setting.

Hope Academy serves young men and women who are considered a high risk for failure academically as well as in life, addressing many issues and obstacles they face which put them at a tremendous disadvantage in the pursuit of a normal, healthy adult life.

Hope Academy will combine academics, cultural enrichment, counseling, life skills training, mentoring, parental involvement, community service, sports and recreation into a comprehensive educational experience.

The vision of Hope Academy is to produce youth who are not only academically excellent, functioning at their appropriate grade level, but to assist them in developing appropriate decision-making and critical-thinking skills.

The program will nurture students in a normative environment that is caring and structured that places emphasis on the development of a healthy self image, personal responsibility, group accountability, moral values, and other character traits needed for successful living.
